This flute has all the qualities you would expect from a vintage Haynes. The sound is creamy and clear, with a bright halo consistent amongst Haynes flutes of this period. Its rich tonal colors transfer smoothly from one register to the next. The low register is tremendously flexible, from hollow to dense. The upper register sings beautifully and easily. Overall, this flute is fluid throughout and a joy to play.

The headjoint may have been shortened slightly to play at A=442 Hz. The scale, however, is most stable when tuned to 440 Hz.

The pads are in excellent condition with very little wear. The flute is housed in its original case, which is in very good condition.
