This flute has the character and vibrant sound that helped define the American flute sound during a time when many principal flutists and prominent teachers performed on Powell flutes. Its tonal character is consistent throughout the entire range; the third register has just as much body as the first. This is a great example of the finely crafted flutes produced by the Powell workshop during the 1960s.

The pads are in excellent condition, and the flute is housed in a newer Powell case.
