Julius Baker was once a spokesperson for Yamaha, and YFL61 was the model that he marketed. Despite the star power, the flute didn’t catch on among college and professional musicians.
The headjoint was tested on a commercial Haynes, a silver Bonneville, and a plated Lebret. In all instances, the headjoint demonstrated its artistry in articulation, tonal color, and response. Overall, this is a finely crafted headjoint that unfortunately has gone unnoticed. There are no logo marks on the headjoint.
